You bought your 4x4 for a reason, but heading off the pavement for the first time can feel intimidating. Welcome to the Trail bridges the gap between curiosity and confidence. In just one day, you’ll learn the essentials of vehicle control, recovery awareness, and trail responsibility while driving your own rig on real Colorado terrain.

This isn’t a classroom lecture, it’s hands-on coaching that leaves you ready to say “yes” to adventure.

  • Brand-new offroaders

  • AWD or 4x4 owners with little to no trail experience (and no 4x4 experience)

  • Anyone nervous about damaging their vehicle or getting stuck

  • How to use 4-High vs. 4-Low and traction modes

  • Basic vehicle inspection and pre-ride checks

  • Trail etiquette & stewardship (Tread Lightly, Leave No Trace)

  • Recovery gear essentials (what you actually need)

  • Confidence to navigate 1–3 rated trails

The Experience

Duration: 1 Day (4–6 hours on-trail)

  • Pre-Trail Orientation: vehicle walk-around, safety briefing, comms setup

  • On-Trail Coaching: real-time spotting, line choice, and vehicle capability awareness

  • Wrap-Up & Q&A: debrief, next steps, and joining the 5280 Tribe
